“The decreasing income of farmers was a great stress for Hajisons and USAID. Under this PAD initiative farmers have been financially supported.”
Since the past ten years USAID has been working to uplift the lives of small farmers in Pakistan. Last year in December USAID partnered with Hajisons to initiate the Pakistan Agriculture Development Project(PAD). Under the PAD project Hajisons trained 6000 farmers of chilli in Punjab and Sindh. Under these trainings farmers on different demo sites throughout Punjab And Sindh were introduced to new hybrid seeds, seedlings and modern agricultural practices. The latest Hajisons chilli variety SV-5508 was also introduced to the farmers which promises 60 percent more yield, better colour and better recovery rate.
The decreasing income of farmers was a great stress for Hajisons and USAID. Under this PAD initiative farmers have been financially supported. Growing the best field crop has resulted in more income hence an improvement in their lives.
